Our History
What We Believe
We believe in God's love.
God made the world, and even when humanity fell into cruelty and selfishness, God still loved the world, sending Jesus to redeem it. As people who have experienced the love of God, we believe that it is our job to share it with the world!
We believe that Jesus welcomes everyone.
At Church of the Epiphany, we've experienced God's welcome of us, and we believe in sharing Christ-like hospitality with everyone who walks through our doors.
We believe in Christian community.
Worshipping God isn't something we only do in the pews, but it is something that also happens around tables at coffee hour, at book club, and at our events, Bazaars, and community dinners. We believe that when we spend time together, the Holy Spirit helps us to grow in love for God and for one another.
We believe that faith is a journey.
We are curious about faith. Through Bible studies, discussion groups, and the videos shown at Midday Prayer, we love to learn and grow in our faith. We don't always have the answers, but we know that God does. We believe in learning to love God more and more each day.
We believe in prayer.
Our community's core beliefs can be found in the Lord's Prayer. We believe in worshipping God. We believe in proclaiming God's Kingdom and doing God's will. We believe in relying on God to meet our needs. We believe in forgiving others as God has forgiven us. And we believe in trusting in God for our salvation.
At Church of the Epiphany, we welcome all of God's children. We are thankful for the diversity of God's creation, and as we seek to love our neighbours, we are mindful of those who have been excluded from God's family because of who they are. We strive to be an inclusive church, welcoming people of all races, genders, sexual orientations, (dis)abilities, and backgrounds into our community.
We unequivocally support and affirm the LGBTQ+ community. God loves you exactly as you are—and so do we. Our congregation is also intentionally open to people with various mental and physical disabilities. We have a lift to help anyone with mobility challenges get into the church. We are learning about anti-racism, and we seek to challenge cruelty and injustice wherever it is found.
